My Life: Soli Deo Gloria

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." ~Jeremiah 29:11-13

Darcy vs. Darcy

I saw Pride and Prejudice on Sunday, which makes this post a little late, but I really wanted to talk about the movie. I saw the movie with Laura, Elaina, Carrie, Beth, Mrs. Sawyer, Mrs. Evans, and my mom.

The movie was awesome!! EXCELLENT!! I would see it a hundred more times and buy the movie! Because the length was shortened to two hours from it's original four hours, it did seem like they left some things out. The movie included all the important parts, but it felt so much more condensed. I think the ending was so much better than the previous movie. The big debate in my mind is which movie had the better Darcy. Some may say that Elizabeth is the crucial role in this film/book, but I say Mr. Darcy is the character that should be carefully examined. In this recent movie, Mr. Darcy(Matthew MacFadyen) seemed to be less mysterious than the previous Mr. Darcy(Colin Firth). You knew that Darcy(MacFayden) was interested in Elizabeth from the moment he first glanced at her. True, he did keep enclosed, but you can see in his eyes and they way he stared at her without her even knowing, that he loved her. (sorry for the guys reading this, you can skip to the next paragraph if needed :) ) I guess that was the main difference I saw. I have to throw one of my favorite lines in... it's at the very end. Elizabeth starts walking by this bridge and out of nowhere, Mr. Darcy is coming across the field(keep in mind it's pretty early in the morning with fog)(it's kind of creepy, Darcy suddenly coming out of the fog, heading to the same bridge Elizabeth is at). Anyway, they're talking(don't want to say too much of the movie) and he says, "You have bewitched me, body and soul". WOW! It hit me at that point that HE is the best Mr. Darcy thus far.

Mr. Darcy #1(Colin Firth)

Mr. Darcy #2(Matthew MacFayden)

I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone. I really think it's not too bad for guys(only 2hours vs 4hours)if they want to see it and it actually has quite a bit of comedy in there. Hey, if 21 guys in our theater sat through it, anyone can.

Last quick update....

My Aunt Paula and Uncle Paul are still in China. They have their baby!! Danielle is the most adorable little girl. I'm so excited to have a new cousin!! She's doing really well. My aunt and uncle said she is smart and a very happy baby. She hasn't cried that much so far and loves being held and cuddled. I'm really excited to meet her in a couple weeks!! Please pray that the rest of adoption process goes smoothly with signing the papers and that they have a safe trip home.

Look up Psalm 34:4-5. I found this in my locker today. I wrote it out before the school year started and put it one of my folders. It's really neat that I found it today because it really encouraged me(one of those awesome God Moments or as Amber and Sandy call it "a kiss from the King"). It's an amazing verse! This God inspired verse has filled me with so much hope. God Bless!

of course, to you (A GIRL) mr. darcy WILL BE the most important character, DUH! :)

Mr. Darcy #1 and Mr. Darcy#2 have the same EXACT expression in your pictures... wow. (just an observation)

I would have to say that Matthew MacFayden definately is not as good looking as Colin Firth.
