Happy Thanksgiving! Merry Christmas!
Today I celebrated the two biggest FOOD holidays of the year for my family. True, with my family, even a short trip over to grandma's house for a couple of minutes includes a couple of cookies and pop(that's what grandmas are there for, right?). Both of my families go all out for food for these holidays(more desserts than we can even finish).
Anyway, the two really good events of day were being able to spend time with both of my families on the same day and being able to eat two different kinds of pumpkin pie(YUM!!). I will say it was kind of weird not having aunt paula and uncle paul and their kids at Thanksgiving with the Betts'. My aunt and uncle had the opportunity to leave for China today to get their new baby, Danielle. They left my cousins with their other grandparents, so it was kind of a bummer that we didn't get to see them. I'm really excited to see Danielle though. Also, my cousin, Jordan, was at his mom's house, so Jonathan and I were the only kids there. Oh, well.
We then went to my grandma and grandpa Keur's house and opened presents. We didn't read from the Bible this year like we usually do, so that was kind of weird. BUT...Santa came!! Every year since I can remember, we have this tradition. All of the cousins run to the bedroom and close the door. A couple minutes later we hear HOHOHO and bells and loud pounding(my uncle mike is the funniest Santa). Then we all go out and see the presents "Santa" left us. It's still fun for me even though I know what's going on because now we have Joe who has been with us since Kristi and him started dating and Isabel and Lilly always get excited. It seemed like Christmas with the snow and the presents and everything else, except grandma didn't put up their massive tree this year. They'll be heading down to Florida in a couple of weeks(pray for them~ they're driving and they aren't as young as they used to be), so grandma didn't want to go through all the hassle. It was a great time!
Good news! Our family is still putting the tree up and we are opening presents on the Thursday before they leave. I'm not sure what I'm doing for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I'm staying with Kate the night before we leave. Maybe it'll be Merry Christmas after all!! :)
Here are some pics of today with both families:
Thanksgiving with the Betts Family:
Grandma opening her presents(it's her birthday today, too). Doesn't she look excited?
Auntie, Grandma, Mom, and MeChristmas with the Keurs:
Kendra and Lilly
Isabel(Kendra's daughter)- she was so excited to get her "Big" present-a megnetic dog playground. She was screaming and kept saying, "I wanted this! I wanted this!" She's so cute!
Caught in the act- Steve stealing Joe's money
Kristi and Joe- I was really happy to see them. It seems like it has been forever! I'm going to ride the train down in mid. January after exams and stay with them for a couple of days. I'm going to visit Moody with Joe, too. It should be fun!
Grandma and her gift- a box of jams
Uncle Mike(dad's bro) and Aunt Marlene
Grandma Honey(my great-grandma) and I- she's the sweetest lady I know. She's always so happy to see everyone and giving hugs. Guess that's why she's Honey(haha).

Sounds like a crazy, busy, fun day!
It's really cool that you have such a big family that lives pretty close by.
I can't imagine my family being in FL on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. That's going to be different.
See you tomorrow!
