My Life: Soli Deo Gloria

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." ~Jeremiah 29:11-13

God Bless America

President Sarah E. Keur

Today in Adv. Amer. Lit., we were suppose to take our final test on the Grapes of Wrath that would cover the entire book. So, seeing as I had my usual busy weekend, I looked up cliff notes on the internet at 11:00 last night (I know- I'm bad). As I was frantically reading through four pages of notes of the last several chapters and getting last minute details of each chapter from my friend, Rachael informs me that 5th hour didn't have to take the test today. This gave me great hope (and great disappointment because I had just wasted my precious lunch hour reading those darn notes) for my next hour!!

Instead of taking the test, Mr. Christian had us take out a half sheet of paper and number to 6. He asked us several questions pertaining to people in our class, like "Name a boy that is wearing glasses" or "name the most annoying girl" and "name a boy that will own a trailor and dress in a robe and pink, fuzzy bunny slippers". He asked us the final question, "Name the girl who will be the future President of America". Naturally, I wrote down Martha Coe because she is VERY politally aware.

When he was going through the answers (yes, believe it or not, these were for a grade), he came to the last question. I knew I was going to get it right with Martha as my answer. Mr. Christian said, "...and the future President of America is..." (people were pointing at both me and Martha and yelling our names) "Keur (Mr. Christian calls my by my last name-it's much more interesting than "Sarah" I guess)". I was surprised seeing as I am FAR from being "politically in-tune" with this world. Politics can get too messy sometimes, yet I'm secretary on Student Senate- go figure! Mr. Christian went on say that I would be a well-loved politician because I "never say anything negative to people and I am outspoken". I, personally, don't think that I would get many votes for my ability to run the country, though. I'd probably get into some type of trouble without knowing what went wrong. Could you imagine another Nixon?

Wow, President Sarah E. Keur. That has a nice ring to it.

I will be running for President in 2111 (probably as a hologram) with my Vice President, Pedro Sanchez. Remember: A vote for Sarah is a vote for Pedro.

...and if you vote for Pedro, all your wildest dreams will come true.

Sarah, do you know yet if you can come to see Star Wars on Friday night at 8:00? I need to figure out who all is going soon so we can make sure to get the tickets.
