Concerts, Try-outs, and Other Random Thoughts
Last night was AWESOME! I went to the Kutless concert, which also featured BarlowGirl and Stellar Kart. All the bands were great! I had never heard Stellar Kart's music before the concert, but they were really good! They are of the punk music genre, like a mix of Relient K and FM Static. BarlowGirl was rockin', too. I love their music. It really sends people a message about how we shouldn't "be comformed by the world, but to be transformed by God". It's so cool to see these sisters who are so in love with God, that they are willing to do anything to grow closer to Him. They talk about surrendering to His will, holding off on dating and waiting for God to bring the men into their lives, and how God is always with us. And then, of course, there's KUTLESS! They are so cool to see live! They did some songs from their new worship CD(which is awesome by the way). They took some of the regular praise songs and put a rockier edge to them. It's a whole new level of worship!
Soccer try-outs begin today and run all this week. I'm nervous. I think I'm a little more prepared than last year because I kind of know what to expect, but there's still that "butterflies in the stomach" feeling inside. I just have to know what God's in control of the outcome. If He has a better plan for me than doing soccer this season, I have to be okay with that. He has a purpose for me this spring. I don't know if that's being a witness to the soccer team or really focusing on other things in my life, but I know He's going to do something awesome.
P.S. Please pray for me about soccer

Glad you had a great time at the concert! You GH'ites should come to MSHS for lunch tomorrow. I've got lunch from 12:00 - 12:44. No one will ask ANY questions if you guys walk in the front door, turn right, follow the hallway as it goes left and a quick right to a glass hallway. Take that all the way down till you see the cafeteria on the left. You, Steve, and Forrest are all invited. If you can't get a ride, that's alright.
How are tryouts going?
I'll pray for you.
Does Amber still need prayer too?
Hi all! Thanks for the comments. Tryouts are going o.k. I was a lot more confident going into tryouts at the beginning of week, which helped my self-esteem a lot. Yesterday(sorry to gross out those of you who are into imagery)I started getting a blister. It was huge and I could barely walk on it. I try work really hard, especially during conditioning, so I think I got it from sprinting on the hard gym floors. Today, it hurt even worse and I had a hard time walking during school and at tryouts. I guess we will see what the outcome is...tomorrow is final cuts!!
Yes, PLEASE pray for Amber. I'm hoping that if we make the same team, I will be able to talk to her more. She's really pulled away from everything that we've talked about in the past. She atleast had a foundation of what is means to be a Christian and even started to believe that there is a God. She's starting to swear, too. I can tell that sometimes she catches herself because she knows I don't like it, but I still hear her a lot. It's really hard, but keep praying for her! I know God's still working in her heart!
Thanks Elaina! That wasn't the ONLY reason I loved the concert so much! It was just a plus-haha! I really want to read that story when you're done. Is it like the one you were talking about on the way home? Glad you had a good time in Florida. I'll give you updates on Amber when they come. See you!
